Commercial Tire Technician: Hutchins, TX 75141 

As a Commercial Tire Technician, you will be responsible for performing tire-related services safely and efficiently for a variety of commercial tire users. This role primarily involves performing service calls in a company-provided service truck, responding to customer needs on the road or at job sites. You will also handle in-shop tire services, maintain equipment and service vehicles, and ensure all work complies with company policies and federal safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Tire Installation & Service

  • Dismount, mount, and service all types of tires, including drop center, semi-drop center, and multi-piece rims.
  • Perform advanced tire services such as match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and correcting radial runout.
  • Inflate tires to proper PSI based on vehicle load requirements.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.

Mobile & In-Shop Service

  • Respond to road calls and job site service requests using a company-provided service truck.
  • Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend on-call service coverage.
  • Conduct in-shop tire repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with in-shop tire service work as needed, especially during slower service call periods or seasonal lulls.

Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Maintain service vehicle and all onboard tire service tools in safe and working condition.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and organization of tools and equipment.
  • Keep accurate inventory of tire products, parts, and tools.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Complete service paperwork, including billing documents and after-hours service reports, accurately and on time.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain a valid DOT Medical Card and appropriate driver’s license.
  • Use PPE at all times and operate tire cages and safety equipment as required.

 

Environmental Responsibility

  • Dispose of damaged, scrap, or non-repairable tires in accordance with environmental and company standards.
  • Remove and return tires for retreading or off-site repair when applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess (or obtain) a valid DOT Medical Card
  • Must have a Valid Drivers License & meet commercial driver qualification requirements, including being at least 21 years of age
  • At least 2 years of commercial tire service experience or heavy-duty tire service preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety
  • Must be willing to perform service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis
  • Good oral and written communication ability
